Master in Information Technology

PG Program Profile

From the date of its proposal, the program was known as the master of software engineering. In the year 2023, the name of the program changed to its new name.

Looking at the current industry and academic demand, the motto and curriculum of the program have changed. Considering the current specialization and curriculum, the department changed its own old software engineering program into the master of information technology.

2024-2023

Information Technology

Latest updates added blockchain, IoT, and quantum computing. Industry-led capstone projects prepare students for evolving IT roles and diverse career paths.

2020-2023

Information   Technology

Program focused on industry-readiness with practical courses in DevOps and agile methodologies. Internships became mandatory.

2015-2020

Information   Technology

New courses in cloud computing, big data, and machine learning were added. AI and data science became key research areas

2010-2015

Information   Technology

Curriculum expanded to include web development, mobile computing, and cybersecurity. Internships and interdisciplinary projects were introduced.

2005-2010

Information   Technology

Program launched, focusing on core computing areas like algorithms and databases, with a strong emphasis on research.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

PEO1:    An ability to independently carry out research/ investigation and development work to solve practical problems .
PEO2:    An ability  to write and present a substantial technical report / document .
PEO3:    Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program . The mastery be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program .

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)

At the end of the program a student will be able to:
PSO1:     Design and develop secure systems that prevent threats leveraging the understanding of next-generation networks.
PSO2:    Apply statistical processes to analyze complex data and extract insights that
can support data-driven decision making.
PSO3:     Design ethical solutions of global challenges by applying intelligent data science & management techniques on suitable modern computational platforms through interdisciplinary collaboration.
